Junior Software Developer

My client is from UK looking for Junior Python Developer. They make the Web faster by allowing our customers to store, optimize and deliver their assets (product images, videos, files, code, …) rocket fast over the World.

Required skills: 

• Unix and Bash scripting.
• Expertise in Python or/and PHP.
• Expertise in SQL (PostgreSQL 10+).
• PL/PGSQL is a bonus.
• Building scalable and distributed computing infrastructures is a bonus.

Your mission:

– Rewrite some Log INGESTION code in Python or PHP:

• in a VERY CLEAR syntax,
• with a WELL-FACTORIZED code,
• totally FAILURE-PROOF code,
• with VERY GOOD documentation

-Code must be FAST and avoid at all costs useless SQL queries to save time.

-Data INPUT is not always clear and should be cleaned before INSERT.
-Find the best way to INGEST a lot of data, example:
-DROP index / IMPORT / RECREATE index …

-TRUNCATE or DROP temp tables …
-Leverage PG PARTITIONED TABLEs

Error management:
– Sometimes it fails because of bad INPUT data log the error and abandon,
– Sometimes it fails because of high server load and locks try again
– Every piece should be logged and reliable because sometimes the code crash at totally unexpected levels (ex. cannot get data from providers, …)
